Numerical Study on Flexible Pipe End Fitting Progressive Failure Behavior Based on Cohesive Zone Model

Flexible pipes are extensively used to connect seabed and floating production systems for the development of deep-water oil gas. In top connection area, end fitting (EF) is connector between flexible pipe platform, as a critical component structural failure. To address this issue, combined numerical experimental prediction method proposed in paper investigate failure behavior EF considering tensile armor epoxy resin debonding. order analyze stress distribution damage state bonding interface load increases, finite element model anchorage system established based on cohesive zone (CZM). Additionally, effects shear strength (ss) steel wire yield (ys) load-bearing capacity discussed detail. The results indicate that have substantial effect system’s behavior, low-strength has three-stage with yielding predominant mode, while high-strength two-stage debonding mode.
